The archive you obtain should contain the following;
Howmuch.doc : This file;
Howmuch.exe : The executable file;
Howmuch will analyse your files area as describe by your Maximus
setup area.dat file. It can produce a Maximus BBS compatible file to be
displayed in your bulletin. There is in fact very little to say about this
program, what it does is quite simple. It looks through your file areas and
count how many files and how much diskspace they occupied. It is compatible
with CD-ROM setup where a separate filesbbs statement is used. While
processing Howmuch will go through every areas. It will read the areas
files.bbs (or any other as specified in your areas.ctl), and check for each
file. When it find a file it adds it to the general and the specific area's
summary.
HOW TO RUN HOWMUCH.
Howmuch syntax is simple containing only two or one possible argue-
ment, as follows;
Howmuch [path to AREA.DAT] <name of BBS display file>
The path to your Maximus area.dat (normally in your max directory) shall not
include the name of the area.dat file, ie; C:\Maximus\ The trailing
backslash is not mandatory.
The name of the BBS file if given will cause howmuch to generate a Mecca
compatible BBS display file, the extension .BBS MUST be specified.
Example;
Run howmuch with the AREA.DAT directory in C:\max and store display file in
the \MAX\misc directory;
Howmuch C:\MAX \MAX\MISC\Summary.bbs
Run Howmuch without generating the BBS display file;
Howmuch C:\max
Quite simple is'nt it ?
